April Sims Food Diaries: The Field House, Philadelphia, PA

  • Sumo

The Field House is located 1150 Filbert St, Philadelphia, PA 19107. Which is right across the street (which was reminiscent of a tunnel with a light at both ends of it) from the Reading Terminal Market.

The Field House looked like a typical sports bar / pub upon entry. Dark wood tables and chairs every where. They had a small stage in the window. No band that day. Just an empty stage.

The bar area was also dark wood (counter top and stools). There were plenty of booths in the bar area which made me very happy, because I prefer booths over tables.

There were also enough wide screen tvs showing enough different channels for all of the patrons. The tvs that had sound that day were of the soccer game. I have no idea who was playing, my BF was ooooing, ahhhing and awww manning with the crowd.

He ordered bbq wings and I ordered the southern fried chicken fingers. Both dishes were tasty. Nothing special. Tasted like what you would get from any sports bar or chain restaurant.

Our server was outstanding.

I would definitely go to The Field House again if the opportunity presented itself.
