Every year millions of visitors flock to Washington, D.C. to partake in the annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. that celebrates the friendship between the United States and Japan.

Many thought they would not make it because of ice, snow and wind during the beginning of March.

Every year the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival kicks off the tourist season for the Nation’s Capital.  This year the Cherry Blossom Festival began on March 20th and ends on April 16th.
