Pictures of My Impromptu visit to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C.

I’ve seen several images on the internet of the memorial dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. , however I’ve never had the chance to see the statue in person. Last night I got that chance with an  impromptu trip to Washington, D.C. (Saturday, February 19, 2012).

Technology in regards to camera phones is amazing to me. I took the following images at night with my HTC Evo Shift camera phone.

I definitely plan to go back to the memorial when it is light out to be able to capture readable images of Dr. King’s quotes.

After visiting the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial I crossed the street to visit the Lincoln Memorial. Dr. King gave his famous “I Have A Dream” speech from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. It was took dark out to capture the plaque on the steps that place marks where Dr. King stood during his speech, so I took a picture of the statue of Abraham Lincoln, which resides inside of the Lincoln Memorial.

President’s Day is on Monday, February 20, 2012 and at the foot of the Abraham Lincoln statue where wreaths to celebrate this holiday.
