The Newseum located in Washington, D.C., is waiving its admittance fee to visitors that are 18 years or younger through September 1, 2014. This offer is called the “Family Fun Deal” and is good for up to 10 free youth admissions with each paid adult ticket. The tickets are valid for two consecutive days. The Newseum is located at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001.

The Newseum has something to offer the entire family from interactive games to “Being a TV Reporter” and more. “The Newseum, the world’s most interactive museum, where five centuries of news history meets up-to-the-second technology on America’s Main Street. The Newseum also has an annual membership available called the Press Pass Annual Membership. Prices range from $75 for an individual membership to $175 for a family membership (two adults and up to four youth (under the age of 18) living at the same address.

Some of the perks of having a Press Pass Annual Membership include, but are not limited to unlimited admission to the Newseum for a year, priority seating at Newseum programs, priority entrance to the Newseum – even when there is a line, and more. (source: Newseum)

Hour of Operation

The Newseum is open from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day (museum closed).


The Newseum is accessible by car (approximately a 36 minute car ride from Montgomery County, Maryland) and mass transit (Archives/Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter metro station, Judiciary Square metro station, Smithsonian metro station and Gallery Place metro station).

Public parking garages and limited metered street parking are located nearby. The Newseum does not stamp parking passes.
