Excerpt from TMZ: Our sources tell us a member of Whitney’s entourage found her in her oom at the Beverly Hilton hotel … and called hotel security — who then dialed 911. Steve Appleton, chairman and CEO of Micron, died in a small plane accident in Boise, Idaho, on Friday at 9:00 a.m. local time. He was 51. Appleton was the only person on the single-engine prop Lancair experimental aircraft, which crashed between two runways, the Idaho Statesman newspaper reported on its website. Source: PC World
‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ and ‘The Big Lebowski’ actor, Ben Gazzara dead at Age 81. Longtime family friend Suzanne Mados said Gazzara died Friday in Manhattan. Mados, who owned the Wyndham Hotel, where celebrities such as Peter Falk and Martin Sheen stayed, said he died after being placed in hospice care for cancer. She and her husband helped marry Gazzara and his wife, German-born Elke Krivat, at their hotel. (AP)
Hall of Fame trainer and corner man for Muhamad Ali, Angelo Dundee dies at age 90. Dundee died in his Tampa Bay, Florida apartment surrounded by family and friends. Long time host of Soul Train Don Cornelius dies of apparent suicide. Cornelius was found dead in his Sherman Oaks home. His body was found this morning 4:00 a.m pacific standard time. His death was inflicted by a gunshot wound to the head. Cornelius was 75. source: TMZ
“Welcome Back Kotter” start Robert Hegyes died on Thursday in New Jersey. He was 60. Hegyes was rushed to a New Jersey hospital in cardiac arrest. Hegyes played Jewish Puerto Rican Sweathog Juan Epstein on the popular television series “Welcome Back Kotter” as well as had a role on “Cagney & Lacey”. Harry Morgan, most famous for his role as Colonel Sherman Potter in the long running television show M-A-S-H, died Wednesday in his Brentwood home, due to a bout with pneumonia. Morgan was 96. Morgan, also starred in Dragnet; The Richard Boone Show; Kentucky Jones; December Bridge and a host of other shows and movies. No service information is available at this time. Morgan is survived by his wife Barbara, three sons (Charles, Paul and Christopher), eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Legendary Motown singer (Nickolas) Nick Ashford dies at age 70 at a New York City hospital, according to his publicist Liz Rosenberg. He suffered from throat cancer. Ashford was one-half of the legendary duo Ashford and Simpson, which consisted of Nick Ashford and his wife Valerie Simpson. As I reported this morning Carmela Dela Rosa, a 50 -year old grandmother was suspected of allegedly throwing her 2 1/2-year old granddaughter Angelyn Ogdoc several stories to her death at a shopping mall in Virginia. The 50-year old Fairfax woman has been now been arrested and charged with murder, according to Ian Rodway, the chief deputy Commonwealth’s attorney.
